Surrounded by Good People and Happiness

Posted: August 23, 2019

It is hard to choose a moment to describe when everyday here has been incredible and life changing. Being welcomed into this village by the amazing Karen people has been an eye opening and heart-warming experience that I will never forget. Every time I meet a new elephant for the first time I am overwhelmed with feelings of respect, admiration and love that I think will change the way that I see and feel about all wildlife, especially those that should be wild but are in captivity.

However, the best part of this whole experience is being able to share it with all of these wonderful people. Every single member of the staff and volunteers are each so kind, loving and passionate about this project that it is what has stood out to me the most. It is so nice to be surrounded by good people that I believe actually accept me as I am. I am happier here than I could have ever imagined and I feel so lucky that I have been able to have this opportunity.
